Mark Monaco

  • Mark has a bachelors degree in Business Marketing from Texas Tech
  • When not writing or playing music Mark spends his time cooking, working out, reading, and spending time with his wife and 4 daughters.
  • At age 11, Mark received an impromptu guitar lesson from ZZ Top frontman and family friend Billy F. Gibbons, who also was Best Man in Mark's older sister's wedding.
  • Mark prefers to write songs early in the morning and writes all of the Strayhearts songs.
  • He enjoys a shot of American Bourbon before each show. He insists "It calms the nerves and warms the throat"
  • While attending Belmont University in Nashville, Mark worked at MCA Records and was involved in the launch of artists like Gary Allan, Lee Ann Womack, and Chris Knight.
  • Mark's dream car is a Black 1961 Lincoln Continental with Suicide Doors.
  • His favorite books are about American and Texas history. Also he's a Presidential History buff.
  • Favorite food is (of course) Tex-Mex. It's a San Antonio thing...
  • Mark plays Guitar, Drums, Piano, Harmonica, Banjo, Accordion, and Bass.
